2023년 연보

올해는 필자의 그동안 연구 업적을 단행본으로 순차적 정리, 출간하는 첫해가 되었다. 2021년의 The Handbook of Mummy Studies: New Frontiers in Scientific and Cultural Perspectives에 이어 올해는 2권의 단행본이 각각 영문과 일문으로 출판되었다. 첫째는 New Perspectives of the Harappan Culture in the light of Recent Excavations at Rakhigarhi: 2011-2017로서 필자가 National Geographic 지원을 받아 인도에서 수행한 인더스 문명 발굴 보고서이다. 이 발굴에서 필자는 생물인류학적 연구를 담당했었다. 다음은 일본의 지인과 함께 편집한 계간고고학지가 출간한 별책 단행본 都市化の古病理学이다. 이 주제 역시 오랫동안 필자의 연구관심 대상이었다. 도시화가 어떻게 인간의 건강과 질병상태에 영향을 줄 수 있는가? 이 단행본은 그 고민의 결과이다. 올해 출간한 이 두권의 단행본은 현재까지 필자의 연구 정리하는 작업이라는 점에서 의미가 있는 작업이다. 필자의 연구를 Wet Lab에서 Dry Lab으로 전환하고자 하는 작업은 2010년대 초반부터 시작되어 지금까지 계속되고 있는데 가까운 시일 내에 통계, 생명정보학, 의학, 역사학 등 인문학을 융합한 방향으로 연구를 이행시키고자 하고 있다.
